Sos Enattos mine

Sos Enattos mine

The important mining complex saw the beginnings of activity at the end of the 19th century, initially for the extraction of lead and silver, then over the years the interest moved to zinc, more abundant and profitable. Between ups and downs, the mine continued its activity until 1997, the official year of closure. The Sos Enattos mine was the last metal mine to close down in the province of Nuoro. Although the extraction of minerals has ended, it continues to use mining professionalism in the recovery and enhancement of industrial mining and environmental archeology. The mining complex is vast and is located in an area of particular natural interest.
